Buzzcocks
Today we had gone into the TV Studio and watched a
playback of our first take of out program, this was together valuable and
a good learning practice for our group. There were many areas, which need to be
improved upon such as focusing and the low number of cuts we had. I feel that
for our first take at something we as an entire group had never done before did
not go so bad we had definitely included many different range of shot but we
had still needed practice in many other factors such as cutting on time and
many microphone problems. We also watched a clip from the music quiz show Never
mind the Buzzcocks, which helped in what factors we need to improve on for
example, the would have many cuts between the presenter and the
guest/contestants.

Pre-production
Today was the day that each group
member had the chance to make any changes and upgrades needed to be done to the
pre-production simply because we are going to film during our next lesson.
Since some people where working on
the music, script and the props I had the chance to upgrade the intro of our
show. The intro I created is to help the audience identify our show. The intro
is simple, I created it using Adobe After Effects using some simple techniques
I had studied during my free time. The intro had a combination of kinetic
typography and moving shapes, with very crisp and clear colours. The colours I used
were simple, White and blue, the group and the director agreed on the colours. As
they had to match some props according to our house colour. The music I used
for the intro was quite fast past, which suited the intro perfectly, The track
that I have chosen was from YouTube, I had no copyright issues as the uploader
of the track had stated that the music is copyright free.
I had also added more genre
overlays to the show as we had decided to add much more music genres to give
our talent a wider opportunity of genres to choose from. The overlays were
created within Photoshop using the same House colours and combining images from
Google to create those simple by professional looking name and genre overlays.
All images that I had used where copyright free. Once each and everyone of us
completed their pre-production we were all ready for out next step which was to
go ahead and record our final piece the next day.
Rehearsal
Since we had been in the TV studio for several times each group member understood their role within the production. We had several practices of how the show would go so everyone had an equal opportunity to understand their role.
During the rehearsal time we had
also decided that our presenter should be Khalil simply because he suited that
role and knew what should be said even when the script was not ready for him.
For our talent, we had decided to select members from our class simply because they
were much more reliable than going out to find someone else from somewhere
else. Our talents were Danillo, cloudio, Nicole and Hannah.
Since I am the camera man, my job
was easy, simply listen to the director to what he has to say about what team
to film, when and what type of shot, for example a wide, close up or an
establishing shot of the entire group. During my free time I had also had the opportunity
to create a short intro for our production which was around 8 seconds long, I had
also created some name and genre overlays for our final piece, these were
created so that it would help out final piece look much more professional.

Group Roles
On the 16th of January, as a group we all had pitched our ides. everyone in the group had a different idea to others this made it quite difficult to pick the best. so what we decided to do was have a vote on which one to go with and since Brandy and Saif had the best ideas, they both had the most votes. Eventually we had gone with Saifs as it was the most realistic and would be more enjoyable.
Saif Babur's idea was a game show, a game show that is named What's That Song, and telling by the title you could tell straight away that it is a music related game show where the talent would have 20 seconds to listen to a song and guess either the artist of the song or guess the song it self, or guess both to get the full points.
Every person in the group had a practical role within this production and mine was being a Camera man and the editor. The other are listed below:
Pre-production was needed before we could even start rehearsing in the studio. Everyone had different paper work to do and I had a particle role. I was handed the role to create and intro for the production. I had also created the overlays of the programme which contained the names of the Talent. I had also helped out in a role where we had decided on which music we should add. This is when our production started to come together, and we started to go into the TV as one group and sort out the shooting script, music, and camera angles.
